Therapeutic ultrasound is a treatment modality that uses sound waves to help stimulate blood flow into an area, reduce swelling by causing small amounts of movement in the cells, and aid in tissue healing by stimulating the cells that are responsible to take away damaged tissue and lay down new tissue to work harder.
